Description While this piece is apparently a figurine of a female dancer holding her right arm and right leg high, it is in fact an ewer, her hair bun being the lid, the edge of her right sleeve the spout and her left arm the handle. The decoration on her dress is drawn in overglaze enamels and gilt is applied over the red ground and white ground. The gilt decoration has been preserved relatively well, making this piece look even more gorgeous. The interior of the foot ring bears an inscription in underglaze blue, which can be read fugui jiaqi, meaning "fine vessel for the rich and honorable". A similar example is in the collection of the Percival David Foundation in London.
